STOP THE WAR In 2071, the world is on the verge of an environmental catastrophe, leading to the extinction of human life on the planet. With the end clearly in sight, the scientific community decides to take a last desperate, alas covert action on its own. As time travel experiments show promise, an M.I.T. professor undertakes going back into the past to attempt remedial measures. According to the faculty, technology developed too fast during and immediately after the Second World War, averting the conflict seems the only available solution. Armed with the knowledge of history, the professor takes the leap. ISBN 1-59431-649-X or 978-1-59431-649-4Purchases are available at WRITE WORDS INC. |

What my readers think about STOP THE WAR This story is frightening. One does not have to be a rocket scientist to see that we never solve any major problems, just put off the day of reckoning. I am hoping that in 2071 there will be a Wesley Skora inventing time travel. Many starts… K.D. Apart from the serious undertones, the romantic and the ribald alternate in a most entertaining way. The segments in the nineteen thirties are very well researched. As a child growing up in Budapest I can vouch for them. Five stars. Z.F. Is time travel possible? Should we try concentrating efforts on this particular venture? Sure, we could right many wrongs, but such tool in the wrong hands could spell Armageddon. Then, why bother to save the world from an environmental catastrophe? I tell you: for the simple reason of having a book like the Stop the war to read. It is a thought provoking, highly entertaining yarn. If you want to enjoy an unusual sci-fi, read it, you won’t be sorry. B.T. |
